Discover new ways of industrial communication
One small chip combines fast real-time Ethernet technology with traditional fieldbuses and a backplane master.
As a real-time Ethernet unit, the Antaios chip is programmable, which means that all Ethernet-based protocols can be supported. This enables a fast reaction to any protocol changes. In addition, a high degree of flexibility and future security is guaranteed, since new features can be conveniently retrofitted via software (microcode). The Antaios is already designed for upcoming TSN extensions and future solutions in the area of industry 4.0 and IoT.
In contrast to other implementations, the I/O data is made available via a hardware interface (consistency interface). Slow access via software call-back functions and longer copy routines are not necessary. This makes the I/O data available in real time.
In addition, the user can use the consistency interface to separate the PROFINET Consumer/Provider States from the I/O data. As a further convenience function, the data can be re-sorted almost at will with hardware support and converted into the desired target format. Time-consuming software routines are also eliminated here.
ANTAIOS supports a variety of ethernet based protocols, like EtherCAT, PROFINET (IRT), Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP and MECHATROLINK-III / MECHATROLINK 4. Most Protocols are available free of charge with their standard functionalities. Even Master/Controller applications are supported.
Classical fieldbuses like PROFIBUS (slave and master) and CAN are supported for use in different scenarios like extending existing production plants.

The new profichip® TRITON from Yaskawa combines industrial Ethernet communication capable of gigabit speeds, a fast and reliable backplane bus system and a powerful multi-core processor. This innovative product is available on the market now.
The profichip® TRITON possesses three cores and acts as a powerful processor for industrial automation controllers, motion controllers and robotic controllers. With embedded Linux as the operating system, the chip is ideal for developing new types of controllers. The all-in-one solution provides new functions for fast calculations, real-time industrial communication, reliable and synchronous backplane communication and secure encryption.
The current processor was specially developed to suit industrial environments: The chip can therefore withstand higher temperatures without a decline in performance and is protected against external influences by means of ECC memory in order to minimize the failure rate of the processor. The aim was to achieve the most advanced interfaces, fast computing cores, minimal power loss, an integrated backplane bus master and a communication interface for industrial Ethernet protocols. The power-saving profichip® TRITON is particularly renowned for its low power loss and high single-core performance for motion-controlled applications.
On top of all the functionality integrated, we also offer all common ethernet based protocol stacks like EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and Modbus TCP as well as MECHATROLINK-III/MECHATROLINK 4. Thanks to an integrated PROFIBUS slave and master Interface, even applications for extending existing automation systems is supported. All TSN and OPC UA based scenarios can easily be integrated via software stacks to fit any future protocol iterations. The integrated Ethernet Interface offers up to 4 switched Ports with Gbit capabilities.
Build your own complete automation system thanks to our portfolio filled with the fitting I/O backplane slave controller chip (NOTOS) and the fitting coupler communication ASIC (ANTAIOS). With this system we enable you synchronous communication from your I/O device up to your PLC and motion controller.

DATA ACCESS FROM ANYWHERE
MECHATROLINK Members Association (MMA) was established as an organization to promote ”MECHATROLINK” as an open source industrial network. Mechatrolink is an open source motion fi eldbus empowering YASKAWA Robots and servodrives for more than 20 years with huge global success. ∑-LINK II is a deterministic extension of MECHATROLINK to the encoders, sensors, and I/Os. This provides motion control and robotics applications with high-speed communication and data synchronization since the two networks combined can operate with negligible jitter from the host controller down to the actuator and sensor level.
A Smart Factory application demonstration of MECHATROLINK (OT) meeting OPC UA (IT), inside a fully operational industrial automation test-bed lab linking the deterministic power of MECHATROLINK and the information about its devices to the cloud via OPC UA. Having the mbNET.rokey operating as an edge device, we demonstrate an active bi-directional control SCADA system, connected to the cloud pulling information from the MECHATROLINK Lab assets in Eschborn. This Lab demonstrates both Motion Control and Robotics capabilities of MECHATROLINK. This is now a live demonstration of MECHATROLINK Industry 4.0 and digitalization capabilities.

SPS has a different name since 2019 and is now called Smart Production Solutions, which is precisely what this demo is about. Being a key part of the application setup, mbNET.rokey is the edge gateway connecting the lab machines and the cloud application.
The mbNET.rokey secure remote access router and its mbEDGE software extension acquire local data, process it, display it locally and push it to a cloud application for further analytics and presentation.The mbCONNECT24 remote services portal allows users to securely connect to the site for maintenance or to interact with the process via operational dashboards.
A Node-RED dashboard, running on mbNET.rokey, allows the authorized remote user to control directly the machines, while more dashboards are available from our cloud application, to display the KPI’s, the productivity information and the assets health. All dashboards are accessible from a plain Internet browser, on a PC, tablet or even smartphone, with all due security.
Being able to trace the Assets Health remotely helps implementing predictive maintenance process and linking it to the ERP system. This is benefi cial to avoid production line interruptions by making sure the spare parts are ordered in time and installed before the device failure… It fi ts the smart production concept, as it allows direct measuring & control of the productivity.
This demo is more than a promotion tool, it demonstrates our capability to build a powerful ecosystem around MECHATROLINK core competences, bringing it at the edge of IT/OT integration and making it ready for users digitalization projects.
